Burlington, Ia. Jan. 16, 1943 Sat 11 P.M. My Dearest: - Received your letter written wed. today. So sorry to hear of Winnie being sick. The trip might have been too much for her. Too bad about sugar Boal. I hope it won't be anything serious. Give them both my best regards. They have had quite a time with their girls haven't they? Well honey, everything is going against me. I will forward it on to you and if you think we should make an objection you know how to go ahead and make it out. It beats the dickens, you have no say about the renting or anything. I wish we could sell it. Honest I do. This will be the last pay for the man in the back room too. Well Ruthie has been in bed all day long and tonight I gave her an enema & called Dr Aid & he sent her medicine for the pain. She has been asleep ever since. I guess there is no use thinking about it though. She just isn't able to do the work that's all & there is no use talking. I havn't been able to find anyone yet & doesn't look like I am going to find anyone. Well I will do the best I can and that is all I can do. Mrs Sellars came over & cleaned the
