Memphis Monday, June 20, 1864 Called in line well armed at 2 o clock A. M. and dismissed soon by 1st Lieut. commenced raining [illegible] Washed My 2 Shirts and towell by our cook fire at M. we drew 3--days rations to commence on the 21st Short drill in [illegilbe] arms Tuesday 21 On Camp guard first relief ordered to make ready for inspection of arms, equipment Clothing, cooking utensils & camp [illegible] by 11 o.clock A.M. rainy P.M. order to inspect arms countermanded drew bread rations Wednesday 22 Discharged from Camp guard at guard mounting which took place between 8 and 9 o'clock A.M. taken slightly with diareah. Some 200 government wagons & mules passed East and cavalry with several brass canon rainy
