[bookprint: SUNDAY, JULY 17, 1864.] [handwritten:] Lagrange Tennessee The regular weekly inspection by the Company commanders took place at 9 o'clock. mail came in at 12 o'clock. received 2 letters. 1 from Charlotte and 1 from Hannah. Answered Esthers and Fathers letters. The teamsters of our Regiment removed their mules. [bookprint: MONDAY 18] [handwritten:] wrote letters home. our Squad had some green peaches stewed for dinner and supper. [Overacher?] withdrew from our squad and joined Shaws Battalion. drill just before dress parade. my weight is 138 lbs Fosters? 160. Harmons 122 [bookprint: TUESDAY 19] [handwritten:] am drill before breakfast. Aaron Belt taken sick with the pleurisy. one company of the 9th Illinois Cavalry arrived here with dispatches from Smiths army. they were in the late flight [5? 50? 56?] miles south of Corinth [Missouri? Mississippi?]
