Tuesday, July 26, 1864 Lagrange on Police duty Cars came in at ten with bridge timbers and Pile [illegible] and companys E.H.G and I of 44 fell in line and accompanyed the train as Guards as far as it could run being 5 miles returned at dark. [illegible] Brigade of Rebs. reported to beat Holly Spring Miss. Wednesday 27 detailed on Picket not needed as was [illegible] sent back to Memphis [illegible] Mailed 18th from home. Thursday 28 Moses Belt and [illegible] played Dominoes with M. Belt and [illegible]
