Memphis Tenn. Friday, September 9, 1864 Rool call at 8 1/2 am. Regt. ready to march at 7 marched [illegible] mile and rested till one o'clock after which we went to the Steamer & halted in front of Gen Washburne's HDQR's. he made a short speech after which our Regt. & 2 co. of the 45 boarded the Belle Memphis and started for home at 4 PM Saturday 10 On board the Belle Memphis We Passed the [illegible] at ten am and Island No. 10 at one pm. arrived at Columbus [illegible] at 5 o'clock P.M. [illegible] Sunday 11 Camped on Levy at Cairo went to see the [illegible]
