New Hartford SUNDAY, OCTOBER 9, 1864 put the sheep below H Hammonds. Went to church forenoon Eld Orcutt preached. Stayed to Sunday School. They are to have a picknic Wednesday went to S. B. Ensigns Milo Gilburt and Charlottes mother come (?) (?) Charles. (illegible) have come to our house all night MONDAY 10 Went to Ed (illegible) to get him to dig cellar he agrees to come @ $1.60 per day. I took him plow to the blacksmith for him went over three times took (?) sheeps lamb off. John Davis settled up with Pa amt up him $5.85. I let him have my blanket for $5.00 & pd him $1.00 TUESDAY 11 Ed Twohigs came to dig in the cellar again to day we nearly finished it Pa paid him $3.00 for 2 days I went to hear Eld. Gracy speak subject Presidential Election. Sent $25 cts by C. Harmon to the Falls for my (?)
