March 5th Sunday 1865 I shall start for old Knox in the morning. They have been kind very kind to me and I thank them for it. I shall xx never again see my friends here always think with peal sure of my stay in Iowa. Good by [illegible] you have been a brother to me. and may I ever count you one among my friends.
