[Sept 1, 1918] My Dearest Bess, This is my last letter from this place and I am glad as this inaction is fierce. We will leave in the morning for port & embarkation which will probably be Hoboken. I will let you know as soon as I get there. We will be about 5 days on this road so you see we will travel rather leisurely. If you were with me I could just enjoy that part but in the present condition of things it will be rather tedious.
