believe it was very serious. We are at present quartered in a very fine apartment house. Hot and Cold water and everything OK. It is certainly a great relief after such a rotten trip. The last night I was cold and wet but the other fellows looked so funny it helped pass the time away. We have had our crowd separated but we have the best part with us at least I think so any way. I wonder if you received the letters I wrote on board ship. It seems wonderful to be able to talk to you over that immense body of water. The ocean surely is wonderful. If one could go when it was not so crowded it would be worth while. I wonder if you think of me as often as I do of you. I am afraid you can't as you have been working and I have been traveling so I have so much more time. The French people are surely wonderful. They make so much over little things are so cordial and make everything beautiful that they can. I wonder if our own people will ever reach that stage. Each shop keeper is an entertainment himself.
