Oct. 17th 1918. My Dearest Bess: I have been getting your letters rather spasmodically. The first last and last first. I received one written on 27th Sept the other day and one written about the 7th. They are all very welcome. I was over with a Capt. Hart to see some people that his wife and he used to know. There was a little girl there who said that she would write to Helen. If the letter or card goes through you will hear from her. They run a restaurant. I just met them once. Well things are rather dull
