Friday 29 The district school of this vilage had its exhibition this evening, it was an excellent affair, and I enjoyed it exceedingly . The chapel in which it was held was very crowded. Feel well. Sat 30. Mr. Wagner and myself started for home where we arrived about noon, in the afternoon I closed the school of my brother very few of the parents were in attendance I made a short speech to the scholars and told them several anecdotes. My parents are doing well, they are getting one little thing after another and finally I hope they will be well prepared to live, and to have things right father was in a very good humor. I visited Brechts where I received a hearty welcome. it is queer to see young ladies with whom I was formerly acquainted, as mothers. Sun. 31. To day is the great day when our savior rose from the dead, a day strictly observed by the Germans as a day sacred to this event. We had a pretty tough journey coming to Western, because the wind blew very strongly in our faces. After partaking of a good dinner at Wagner's however I felt considerable better, and went to my room where I wrote several letters to my correspondents.
