it. We had an excellent bombardier on this particular flight. I was engineer. Yesterday afternoon we had to go to a lecture by a major who urged us to buy more bonds, insurance and save our money. He talked a long time but said little. Kind of like the [illegible] told [Dan?] [O'Holleran?] about talking for words. Just found out the reason our outfit was split up in January, in the whole 2nd Air force which were in the 302 bomb group had the most flying hours and the most efficient line maintenance either one are quite an honor. So they decided to split us right in half inject a sprinkling of new men and have two good units. Dad I hope your anniversary at the yard was a big success and offer my congratulations to the firm. Hope every one dropped in and payed up their old bills and started new ones. Played a couple of games of pinnachle tonight so Im late getting this written. The lights are out and Im writing this in the only place its light in the latrine perched on a stool. Wrote a letter to Mr. [Antes?] in reply to his about my union tax. [illegible] [illegible] it [illegible] be too much, a master sergeant in our outfit had to pay $146 if he figured it up right. Must stop & shower & shave before it gets too late. Love Johnny
