March 13, 1943 Tucson, Arizona Dear Dad + Mom: Yesterday I went to town about 2 P.M and didnt come back until this morning about 11 A.M. When I went I only intended to see a movie and come home but I met Garner Hays down town and as he already had a room I stayed with him. Had a good steak then went out to a roller skating rink but I didnt try it, it's been too long since I tried it. I got my flying time in for this month today, flew the sixth and again today. So you wont have to worry about that for another month no better than I like to fly you can bet I wont do any more than I have to. Today was very pleasant warm and sunny didnt get up until almost 9:30 had wheat cakes and sausage for breakfast so I started the day out right eh Dad? Got a letter from you one from Elwood Greenivy and one from the Hays. Also got the Union I already had that got it a couple of days ago from Westerfield. Got a big kick out of showing the 60 year advertisement to the gang. Got my flying pay the other day so Im sending another money order. Not so large but it will help and
