Chicago Ill. 1917 June 11, 19,17 Dear Mother, I rec. your card and John's letter and the pictures we took. I think that picture of you is the best one you ever took, Well it ought to be good look what you have at the side of you. Ha. Ha. I rec. a big box of candy from Mary ann. It sure was good she had dates stuffed with something that was fine. I gess I hit it a little to hard at first it gave me a stomack ach. I couldint eat any supper. Dont tell her tho. She had a little card inside it said Hope this dont make you sick. Lots of love Mary. If you told her it would make her think it was rotten. and it sure was fine but not any better than Eva sent. We sure did enjoy both boxes. They are getting ready for the movie show. I have
