1917 But you dont need to worry about it becaus were just as safe as we would be at home we will be garded form all sides They dont need solders there now they have plenty . What they need most is there "[R. Ry's.?}" and that is just what we are going for, So I am going to forget the dam war, and take in the sights, becaus they told us there would be no danger. I got here just on time and that was all. I got a letter from mig. Jay is working days, and she still says she loves him more eveyy day. I gave some of the boys so cake and candy. One fellow said I neve tasted such good cake and candy, they thought it was fine, and it sure was. it tasted a lot diferent than what they had. Well mother Dear. I will half to wright Mig and Mary ann I so will say good bye. with lots of love your son Francis
