Chicago Ill June 25, 1917 Dear Mother I recd your letter this am. We are still here but have every thing packed to leave, it may be only practice I think it is becaus this afternoon we have a big parade up [town?]. There sure was some crowed out her Sun. it was just like the 4th of July at home they have all kinds of stands. No one knows where we are going but they are sending some of the things to New York City so I suppose we will go there. I sure hope so. Chicago was quite a sight to me but think what N.Y. will be. I got a letter from Mig and Grace this am. Mig says she is going to moove, I was out on the Beach last night, and got a [jain?] that has only been in this country three months, she came from Irland I sure had some time talking to her, I told her I was and Englshman and she walked of and left me.
