Chicago Ill 1917 July 9. 1917 Dear Mother:- I rec'd your letter why didn't you send that application for my pipe fitters job. You said to take it to the office, but you didnt send it, I have to have it to show them. Maby I can get transfered, they can get men for here but they cant for the navy yards. I dident know that stuff was for John. His girl said half of it was for him. We got payed this morning, I got 27.50 you know I dident get here until the 4th or I would of got 30.00. Send your letter registered we may leave here anytime don't forget to put the application in your son Francis with lots & lots of love Francis I would like to get transfered altho I would like to go to Francis. But thats a quite a wase from home isnt it ha ha
