is no reason i should have none But enough of this We are still camped here on the hill it has been very wet for three or four days it rained one night and sleeted the next for two nights it was very bad on the stock that was standing out all of the stock is out here there is about 2,000 head of horses and 1200 of mules 500 of cattle some sheep Jack and Jennetts all of which has no shelter but we do very well it is a little cold in our tents but we stay up till 8 every night then go to our tents and go to bed we cook about forty gels from our tents we had rails and burn they make an excellent fire and we don't spare them neither Four companies of Col Jennison men went out after some rebels but could not not find their camp they went to Dayton burnt it killed 8 men jayhawked all they could and come home satisfied that price was going south with his army and not going to give fright The army inspectors from Washington City was here yesterday inspecting as he said we was not half clothed that the soldiers in the east was clothed as good again as we was he also said we wanted better arms that we was entitle to as good arms as any in the us
