it in a check I dont this war is going to last very long i dont see any movements on either side in the east i believe that our head officers there is cowards or they would have had a fight before now but they are never going to fight the rebels there unless they do it by a flanking movement and that they never can do the rebels will find out how they are going to be attacked and Prof Towe went up in a balloon to see how it would work and they had noticed it and was fixing for them If they Jim Lane there he would have had that fight went off five months ago fixing for that battle there on the potomac has cost the govt more than all the fighting that has been done orwill be done Lane is going South in a few days with 34,000 men and you will hear of something being done he is not a man that goes around with his fingers in his mouth he will have every negro in Texas into Kansas and South Mo he says he can use 34,000 one for every soldier to carry his knapsack and cook for him i think is a glorious plan i hope the war will not stop till every negro in the united states is free we sent about 30 to Kansas yesterday to the land of freedom Jennison has sent about 500 into Kansas and has got about 100
