I want you to write to me as soon as you get this and let me know if you ever received a letter from Ephraim Lewis of Mt Pleasant or Dr Thompson of Jefferson City I wrote to him and told him to send you what was comeing to me there there is $14,75 cts I told him to send it by Express now I want to know if you have received any from them and if you hant I will write a gain to him well father I heared a few days a go that old man Anderson pulled down the Stars and Stripes if that is the truth (and I have good authority) it is a dis grace to Marion County and to all the loyal citizens tell them cowardly boys there it will be a disgrace to their great grand children tell them that on the 6th of April there was many a brave Soldiers fought and bled and died to support the Stars and Stripes that now floats in our Camp against twize our number and they the poar Cowards let an old grey headed Son of the devil pull it down right under their own noses but what els could you expect of a set of Cowards there is but twelve men left in Co E and we would want no better from than to clean out Marion County of all such as anderson and any one else that threatens the flag of our Country with distruction. I dont believe there is a man in Co E but what would shoot old Anderson at first sight
