Oct 29, 1862 Camp tutle Iowa Well managam I take my pen to write you a few lines to let you no that I am well except the backache we have a hee old time of it hear we like to froze last Friday and Saturday we had no clothes only what we brote hear with us and tha ar all dirty and ragged and dirty but we have drawed one blanket apiece and we will get our uniform to day our gunns has allso cumone I belong to Co A our Co and Co B gets the enfield rifle and all the rest of the Cos gets the prusian musket we Co A and B are the flanking Cos all the rest ar growling like rip all redy about thare gunns and tha hant got them yet I want you to come down hear and see us before we leave the Col has march orders I heard last night
