Monday Dec. th 19, 1864 Camp Hardscrable of th 66 over 3 miles from Savannah G. A. Dear Sister ...this afternoon [Obscured] in hand to [Obscured] P G Toney [Obscured] ever but [Obscured] rice & beef I [obscured] I pap vey plenty of that but we are a going to draw some hardtack to night & I hope that these few lines will find you & the folks all well well I guess that I will tell you about our Sweet potato raid we started from Atlanta Nov 15 & burned the rebel city & that is just the way we have done all the way & tore up rail road & burned the Capitol of Georgia Milledgeville
