10.0 Nuts 4 lbs Flour Sugar & Spice 1 1/2 Butter Plain Treacle 1 1/4 Sugar 1 oz of Soda 1 Do [i.e. ditto] gold Ball Dip your finger into a glass of Cold water then into your Sugar & into the water again if it adhers round it is the Small ball if larger & harder it is the large one Crack Dip the same finger into the Sugar & on takeing it out if the sugar that adhered to it breaks in your finger with a Slight noise & does not Stick to the tooth it is a Crack boil it again & if it break on putting your finger into the Water it is the great crack this requires to
