our Col. has turned our regiment over to the French for any branch of the service they want us for. They said were doing more good here than we could in any other branch, from the looks of things this is our home, shes a bird to. Rose Hill is a lively place compared with this. We call the [illegible] avaitars our enertainers. John is trying to get a job cooking nights, for a couple of crews, and sauce shop men. We have places along the line for the road men to eat, at any time, these places are called the greasey spoons. one place a conductor might be a cook, and the next place a switchman might be one. This will be an easy bunch to please when we get [paid?]. Well Mother Dear I must close for this time will write again real soon. Lots of Love to all your Son Francis
