We expect to have a big time when such news reaches us We received two months pay today but I am sorry to let you know that I cannot send any home this time it looks bad too that a soldier cant send any money home out of two months pay but such is the case with me this time I was going to send some but the paymaster said we would not get any more for four months and if that be so I will need more than I expected but I am living as saving as I can you must not think because I cant send any home this time that I am spending it foolishly for I am not I am living as saving as I can for I expect to need some if I should live to come home If we dont get pay til our four months expires we can send 180 dollars home and perhaps more we will send all we can but that be much as little I read a letter from Mother today and one from Almira yesterday I will answer them all
