As Peter is through I will write a few words. I am well and never felt better in my life these shell and musket balls fly just about thick enough to give me an appetite. I got a slight wound the first day of the fight. I am all right and regular again. I only missed 7 days duty on account of it. Well Boy don't you accuse me of being around that everlasting woman I think that I would want a sock drawed over my head for fear I mite see that sore foot of hers and turn my stomach. I'll tend to you for accusing me of that dirty thing. Well Hen I was on fatigue last night until 12'Oclock at night. I waded water and mud up to my ass. I built some works rite up in 40 yards of the Rebs old Jim Geddes was with us pitching around in the mud big as any one there aint no better men than old Jim or braver we think more of him than ever Well Hen this is something like Vicksburg the Rebs have a better chance to shell us they give us blazes the other day
