5 Well i will tell you how we got along on our march the first day we done fierce went 10 miles camped in Harrisonville in the store houses The second day was cold as i ever seen in Iowa we come 21 miles Several of the boys froze their feet so they could not walk i froze my ear very bad and almost give out i was 7 miles behind the colum but i got up a little after dusk the doctor has dressed my ear and says it won't come off but it is a horrible looking ear The third day i got a horse to ride on i expect i would have been taken also We are quartered in the Female college
