Des Moines Iowa Sept 6 1917 Co MG Reg 168 Camp Logan Dear Dot, Your letter was waiting for me when I got here today I came to Valley Jct and then went to Grandmas on the street car. She was scrubbing the Krant steps when I got there and she was sure surprised. She is going to knit me some socks pretty soon. She was getting ready to have Miss Dewey and her sister out to dinner tonight. Aunt Anna was at teachers meeting over on the east side. I gave her the corn and then came over to Camp when I learned we are not even to be allowed to take a trunk so I took mine down to the ammunition train and sold
