[Sept 13. 1917] Thursday Nite 1917 Camp Mills Dear Mother, Well we got here alright and it sure is some camp. I have seen the end of it yet and I have been for 4 or 5 blocks in each direction. There is a big aviation camp right east of us and the aeroplanes fly over us from sunrise till sunrise the next day. We had a fine trip everybody but me got drunk at Rock Island and the cooks have not sobered up yet and one of them is carring a burn about 12 in long on his arm as the result of a fall on a red hot stove.
