work my initials in it with red thread so I can tell its mine. I got a letter from Charlotte today and a card from Dot as well as the Globe. At Elmira Heights a whole hundred girls came along the car and gave us peaches & bananas and cigarettes and kissed us goodbye. At any of the towns where we stopped there was lots of noise. We hiked in Fort Wayne Ind, and Buffalo N. Y., but outside of that we never got off the train. Well I must close Hoping to hear from you soon Your loving son Pvt. Harvey W. Wertz 168 Inf. M. G.
