and we sure went. they sent a special train after us at 4:15 in the afternoon and we got to Forest Hills and then each family took some of us home for dinner. Orth from Guthrie Center and I went to A. N. Gates home and we certainly were royally entertained. A. N. Gates is not a millionaire but he is close enough to it that he didnt have to worry. He has a fine big house and he asked a family of eight girls with their father and mother over from Brooklyn and with Orth and I and 3 other soldiers he sure had a houseful. About 8 oclock we went down town and we could go into any of the stores and get anything we wanted for nothing but if a Civilian went in everything cost him double price. so you can see they tried to show us a good time. They are Catholics and the eight girls are also. I go to Mass in the 165th N. Y. regiment. Well I guess this is all I know your loving brother Harvey
