Dec 18 [1917] Dear Father, Well we have settled down again this time in a very chilly little village somewhere in France We arried at a wellknown port in England in the early part of this month we got right on the train and took a ride clear across the island to a rather cold? [?] in the southern part of england We stayed there two or three days and then went by train to another port and loaded our baggage on a boat and cross the Channel into France and from there we went to another camp for the night and the next night
