My dear sister, Well I have just got some more mail a couple of letters from you and a card from Mary Wertz and a letter from Aunt Anna dated the 23 of Nov. I have not yet received the second box you sent but I got the knife and cookies at Camp Merritt. The knife is just exactly what I wanted and comes in very handy. The English soldiers have knives something like it only larger and clumsier. We have seen Australians, Canadians, English, French, and some wounded African soldiers. We are going to get some more mail today and I may get your Thanksgiving box today. Aunt Anna said in her letter of the 24th that she was going to send me a box also but I haven't received it yet. But I'm looking forward anxiously to its arrival as grub is few and far between. One of the greatest battles of the war was
