[letterhead: United States Marine Corps] [Jan 29, 1946] Dear Dave, I guess it's about time for me stop my scuttlebuts from coming out this way. February fifth I'll will be a free man again. It's going to be a swell feeling to get back in civilian clothes again. I have been stationed at the fleet post office here at Frisco since Dec 10th. They flew us back from Guam to stop all the Third Marine Division mail here and readdress it to the mens correct addresses. The division broke up on Guam and the men were scattered all over the pacific. But now we have it well in hand so we can go home now. I'll probably be thru about the time this letter is. Thanks a lot for sending me the scuttlebut. It has been swell to keep track of old friends
