16th weather warm & pleasant every thing quiet 17th our Div march to the front & I am left here with the sick March 8th get transportation to regt " 9th go on board steam boat & get under way at 8 1/2 oClock A.M. en route for Wilmington, arrive at Ft Fisher at 9 1/2 A.M. just then a thick fog came we run to the dock & lay untill 12 M, when the fog lifted & we resumed our course arrived at Wilmington at 3 PM, found
