May 1865 5th march at 6 AM ford the Cape Fear river at Ruffins Mills & go into camp near the pond our Co were rear guard, the Country very good saw one plantation with a barn on it march 18 miles 6th march at 6 A.M. pass through the village of Graham we pass through a good farming Country roads very dusty, sun intensly hot march 16 or 17 miles Sunday 7th Start at day light march to Greensboro pass
