the town was full of people with chickens. we had 20 young cocks and 16 Duck and they brought $8.00 Mrs Huff and Mrs Eckert were there and Mrs Malcomn from up above Lucky Valley I wanted to get me a new hat but the milliner wasent there she lives or did live at Smithland and goes down on saturday nights on the 9 oclock train and comes back Monday. on the 7 oclock train but she failed to come yesterday she lost quite a good deal by not being there she might have been sick or something happened. Mrs Huff said she might have known it was Womens day when the chickens were sold. it was a nice day and to day is nice too we dident see the sun for over a week it was so cloudy and
