Leuit Ed Everett is an officer in Leon paines Co. and he was in command of the Guard that relived us Sunday night I guess he don't know me. Leon says he is a fine officer and don't do as much cussing as the rest. I am going to try to get home Sunday but don't know. if I cant I'll try to come the 4th. Everything is being rushed so fast you don't have time to eat think or you know what. if they aren't dam careful they will have half the men in the hospital. I understand that some of the officers are raising hell about it and claim their men are so wore out they cant get anything out of them
