Bonnet France Jan. 27, 1919 My Dear Old Mother; Your Letter of Jan 5 received and was glad to hear from you and was most certainly relieved to hear Dad was better for I sure have been worried about him. I don't know wether to be mad or glad tonight. I have been assigned to the battalion runners. I don't suppose you know what that means well I'll explain. it is the bunch of runners that stay with the major and if he wants to send a message to Co K one of the K men takes it. there is four men from each Co. with him for the present we only stay with the laison Group when out on manouvers. but some regiments keep their Inteligence Section
