Sept 1st 1884 Dear Sidney I Received your last letter last Saturday night and the one you sent to lester last wednesday night i am just as glad to get a letter from you as you are to get one from me of course i really mean what these flowers Read or i would not have sent them i never thought when you were here with bentlys that night and seen me act the fool with dave that we would ever write to one another i supposed you would want a better woman than me for i have worked on the farm ever since i was 13 years old i never knew how to do any thing in the house till this summer and i havent learnt to do it all yet i have got lots to learn yet and then my ankle being so sore i dont think i will be able to work for two months yet i am doctoring it now and my Father is so mean he trys to drive me <across the upper left side> Send me you picture when you get it taken Remember this Red Headed girl and
