[illegible] Friday Dec. 28 '83. Friend [Lizzy?] I recieved your long looked for and ever welcome letter on Christmas day, and was very glad to hear from you once more, for I thought you had forgotten me I did feel verry angry to you, but you gave me your reason for not writing so I dont blame you. I am glad you all are well, as these few lines leaves me at present. -In regard to Black-Hawk school, I did intend to teach it but was disappointed to my great sorrow. I will tell you the reason when I see you again.
