Sponge Cake Dissolve 3/4 lb. sugar in half a teacupful of water - break 4 eggs, saving out 3 whites, and pour the sugar boiling hot over them, beating them all the while. The whole must be beaten 20 minutes, then add 1/2 lb. of flour (ground nice) and get it into the oven quick when not too hot.
