To Dye Black A good lot of [Lagwood?] a little green [illegible] a [illegible] put some Allum after shaining it to find the colour Mr Palmer [illegible] Silver to nothing more than the Whitecopper Long known in china, it does not contain a single particle of silver, it is only an allay of copper melted and [illegible], but from it not being easily acted upon by chemical agents, it is superior in many purposes for its cheapness to both silver and gold Although only now coming into use in England it has been known to the manufacturers of Birmingham for many years [illegible] may be beautifully [illegible] with Epsom salts dissolved in hot water, and applied with a brush whilst hot The pulp of Potatoes scraped into water cleanses the finest kinds of silk without injury to the fabric or colour Family Herald
