Mince Meat. 3 lbs of Beef Suet. 3 lbs of Currants. 3 lbs of Apples, 1 lb of raisins, 1 1/2 lbs loaf sugar 12 ozs candid mixed peel, 6 ozs citron peel Mix them well all-together, 8 ground cloves, 1/4 oz of ground Nutmeg, 1/4 oz ground cinnamon 1/2 pint of Brandy, 1/2 pint of cream, 1/2 a tea-cup of Rum, 1/2 a tea cup of Wine. Loaf Gingerbread. 2 1/4 lbs of Flour, 2 lbs of Treacle, 3/4 lbs Moist Sugar 3/4 lb of Butter, 4 Eggs well beaten, 3 oz ground ginger, 1/2 oz carbonate of Soda, dissolved in a little Milk. The butter to be worked to a cream and added to the above ingredients, a little lemon peel, this may be made a few days previous to Baking. M.A Crickenses receipt. *. My own receipt for Mince Meat.
