Tyler Dieters [indecipherable]Major 1/9/40 Bracknell Aldershot oven, Cooks for 220 men, issued by R.A.O.C You must be stationed no less than 10 days at one place. Invented by an officer in the R.E.s' at Aldershot. Hence the name consists of, 2 arches, 2 ends, 1 bottom plate 4 the bars, 1 [indecipherable] and 9 baking tins. They all come from R.A.O.C. To build one you require 1 ton of [indecipherable] or clay, if using a brick bottom, use 100 bricks and 50 for the collar and a piece of stout wire. Positions face prevailing wind [indecipherable] mouth keeps the back dry. [indecipherable] bricks on collar each time. To dry out oven, [indecipherable] slow fire. 1st use 350 lbs. of wood. 1st day 220 lbs. To bake meat and potatoes use 112 lbs. to 120 lbs. Meat [indecipherable] 98 lbs. Hot pot 112 lbs. Bread 112 lbs. Cooking time for meat and potatoes 4.5 secs hand heat. Meat pies 6-7 secs. Hot pot 5.0 secs.
