it boil 4 hours melt butter for sauce. Rice Pudding. 1825 A tea cup of rice a qt. of milk a piece of butter as large as a hens egg bake in a crust spices & sugar to your taste. [Illegible] Pot. 1825 Cut half a loaf of bread in slices pour thereon 2 qts. of milk 6 eggs some water & nutmeg 1/2 lb. of sugar put into a deep dish & cover it with paste bake slow 1 hour. Custard. 1825. 6[m?] qt. of milk 8 eggs have our half their whites sugar & nutmeg to your taste boil them. Sick Bed Custard. 1825. Scald 1 qt. of milk a little salt & sugar 3 eggs & stir it in - bake on coals in a pewter vessel. Sweet Cake. 4 lb. of flour, one lb & a quarter of sugar 3/4 of a pound of butter 1 doz. of eggs 1 pt of cream 1 pt. of milk some yeast and spice to your taste.
