in a cloth & boil 2 hours serve them with sour or sweet sauce. Yeast. Boil strong hop beer add a little molasses & [illegible] let it stand over night & ferment then stir in rye and indian meal then dry on [illegible] plates. Molasses Cake. 3 teacups of flour 1/2 teacup of molasses 1 spoonful of ginger 1 teaspoonful [pearlash?] 2 eggs a piece of butter as big as an egg mix with milk or buttermilk spice as you please. Milk [illegible] Boil one pint of new milk then add one pint of water then stir in flour till about as thick as slapjacks let it stand overnight & it is [illegible] for use. Cake. 2 teacups of flour 1 of sugar 1 of cream 2 eggs salt and pearlash. [illegible] [illegible] 1 lb of flour 1 lb of sugar [illegible] eggs leave out 1/2 of the whites a little mace & more water.
