Mrs. Woodroff's Cake, baked in little pans. Half a pound of flower; half a pound of lump-sugar beat fine; a quarter of a pound of butter. Beat the butter up with your hand; then strew in the flower, & sugar, by little & little. Then beat up seven eggs, leaving out half of the whites. Put in corinths, or carraways, if liked. ******************************************* {Linefus} for a cough. Mrs. Great's. 4 parts honey: suppose, spoonfuls. 2 parts oyl. 1 part rum. 1 part orange-juice. Mix well together. Transcribed by Tory Harman
