Lentil soup 1 pint to 3 quarts water or 1/2 pint to three pints water Wash them thorouglly in many waters by soaking & stirring about the previous day & soak all night Put them on to simmer with fresh water & a carrot onion & turnip cut up. After 4 hours boil more quickly for another hour, pout this' a sieve without any pressing, add salt pepper & piece of sugar to taste Use soft or pure rain-water throughout.
