Currant Shrub Take white currants & bruise them in a mortar, strain out the juice, & to one quart, put three quarters of loaf sugar when dissolved add two quarts of Rum strain it through a Jelly bag, bottle the clearest, what remains thick stir up twice a day, then let it settle & when fine bottle it also.
